Prior to his arrival in Niamey, the head of Belgian diplomacy had a significant meeting in Ouagadougou on August 27 with Burkinabè President Ibrahim Traoré. This two-stage tour, encompassing both Burkina Faso and Niger, underscores a broader diplomatic push in the region.

Minister Prévot articulated his commitment to rebuilding connections between the European Union and AES countries. He acknowledged existing differences but strongly advocated for a dialogue rooted in mutual respect, aiming to bridge divides and promote cooperation.
