A clandestine slaughterhouse was recently dismantled in Abéché, significantly enhancing public hygiene and food safety standards. This decisive operation brings an end to illicit practices and underscores the unwavering commitment of local authorities.
As part of ongoing initiatives coordinated by the Mayor of Abéché municipality, aimed at bolstering public hygiene and ensuring food safety, the administration of the 1st arrondissement successfully carried out an operation this Thursday. Their target: an illegal slaughterhouse located within the Farik Aguek district.
This crucial intervention, spearheaded by Hissein Hassan Tabit, Assistant to the Delegated Administrator, effectively terminated illegal slaughtering activities that flagrantly disregarded established sanitary and regulatory standards. During the raid, several livestock animals were discovered on the premises.
Arrondissement authorities reiterated the mandatory requirement for all animal slaughter to occur exclusively within approved facilities, ensuring the wholesomeness and safety of meat intended for public consumption. They also declared their intention to continue control operations vigorously, combating any practices that jeopardize the health and well-being of the populace.
