Abidjan, 20 June 2026 – The director general of the National Committee for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information (CNTIG), Dr Edouard Fonh-Gbéi, received a distinguished honour on Thursday, 18 June 2026, in Abidjan during the African Economy Builders Gala. He dedicated the award to his entire team and accepted it as a call to pursue even greater ambition and impact.
“This recognition is first and foremost that of a committed team, a vision carried with conviction, and work accomplished with passion day after day,” Dr Fonh-Gbéi stated, thanking the organisers and all who support CNTIG in this journey.
Appointed to lead CNTIG in 2012 following an international call for applications, this geodesic engineer holds a PhD in civil engineering specialising in satellite geodesy, backed by more than 20 years of international experience. Under his leadership, CNTIG has become a major force in the digital transformation of territories.
“I receive this prize with gratitude, but above all as an invitation to continue with even more ambition, rigour, and impact. The best is yet to be built,” he added.
