The arrest of Cameroonian influencer Elysée le Sneiper in Côte d’Ivoire has sparked a wave of reactions back home. In a post on Meta, comedian Moustik le Karismatik directly appealed to the government of President Paul Biya.

Elysée le Sneiper, a Cameroonian social media personality, was taken into custody in Côte d’Ivoire. Sources indicate he is being prosecuted for insulting the head of state. The case stems from a video he posted in 2023 that recently resurfaced, originally recorded during a period of tension between Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon.

The video has been taken out of context, according to the influencer. In a follow-up video on his Meta page, Elysée le Sneiper explained the situation and apologized to the Ivorian people, acknowledging how serious the matter has become.

Following the arrest, Moustik le Karismatik reached out to Cameroonian authorities. He first contacted the Cameroonian embassy in Côte d’Ivoire, then addressed President Paul Biya directly. He expressed concern over the well-being of his compatriot and asked what measures were being taken to ensure his protection, consular assistance, and respect for his rights while detained abroad.
