Finadev Tchad liquidation by cobac shakes N’Djamena’s microfinance sector
The Central African Banking Commission (COBAC) has revoked the operating license of Financial Development Tchad (FINADEV Tchad S.A.), a microfinance institution in Chad, placing it into liquidation.
An official statement released on May 21 confirmed that COBAC’s decision, issued on February 5, 2026, was a disciplinary measure against the second-tier microfinance entity headquartered in N’Djamena.
Following the notification of the decision, FINADEV Tchad S.A. has been formally placed under liquidation procedures.
A liquidation administrator has been appointed to oversee the process, with a mandate set for a maximum of one year, extendable if required.
