Celebrating the 105th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the Chinese Embassy in Gabon recently hosted a significant press conference. The event aimed to illuminate the remarkable journey of this organization, now a pivotal force on the global stage. Diplomats from China engaged with journalists and guests, detailing the historical path of a party that has profoundly reshaped the destiny of its nation. Within a mere few decades, China has achieved an extraordinary industrial boom, delivering a dual miracle of rapid economic growth and enduring social stability.

To truly grasp contemporary China, an understanding of the CCP’s operational framework is essential. This crucial point was strongly emphasized by Xiaole Zhu, Minister-Counselor at the Embassy. “Over 105 years, the Chinese Communist Party, which began with merely fifty members, has grown into the world’s largest ruling party, now boasting over 100 million members,” he stated during his presentation.

This impressive ascent is rooted in a unique synergy with the populace. The CCP draws its strength from deep popular support and a continuously evolving theoretical system, which adeptly adapts Marxism to the nation’s specific and changing realities. Furthermore, unwavering internal discipline is maintained to safeguard the Party’s vitality. Unprecedented efforts to combat corruption and reinforce discipline have successfully mitigated potential risks. As Ambassador Zhou Ping succinctly put it: “To forge quality steel, the tools themselves must be robust.

A shared future vision for Gabon and China

On the international front, China consistently reaffirms its commitment as a global peacebuilder and a significant contributor to worldwide development. Through the implementation of its comprehensive five-year plans, the nation sustains an approximate 30% contribution to global economic expansion. Concurrently, major initiatives, such as “The Belt and Road,” actively promote extensive international cooperation and are responsible for generating hundreds of thousands of employment opportunities.

This commemorative event also served to strengthen bilateral ties with Libreville. The Ambassador warmly concluded the proceedings by reiterating that “China and Gabon stand as reliable partners with a history of traditional trust.” As a new era of collaboration dawns, Beijing expresses its full readiness to deepen exchanges in governance, aiming to jointly construct a community with a shared future.
