Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of finalizing one of its most significant outbound transfers ever. The capital club has reached an agreement with Italian giants AC Milan for the services of Gonçalo Ramos, with the deal estimated to be around €60 million. This substantial operation positions the Portuguese forward’s move as PSG’s second-largest player sale, despite the club incurring a slight financial loss. Ramos was initially acquired on a season-long loan valued at €20 million, followed by a permanent transfer for €65 million. His time in Paris, though impactful at times, did not fully live up to the initial investment.
Topping the list of PSG’s record sales remains Neymar. The Brazilian superstar moved to Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 for a staggering €90 million. Six years prior, Neymar had arrived at PSG in what was then the most expensive transfer in football history, with the club paying €222 million to FC Barcelona. However, his tenure in Saudi Arabia was remarkably brief and largely underwhelming, marked by only seven appearances, one goal, and three assists.
Before Ramos’s impending departure, no other Parisian sale had crossed the significant €50 million threshold. That distinction previously belonged to Manuel Ugarte, who transferred to Manchester United in the final hours of the 2024 summer mercato for €50 million. This occurred just one year after his €60 million arrival from Sporting CP. PSG’s management executed a shrewd sale, especially considering the Uruguayan midfielder has yet to consistently establish himself at Old Trafford, despite a statistically respectable first season featuring 45 matches, 2 goals, and 6 assists.
The definitive transfer of Xavi Simons also significantly bolstered PSG’s financial coffers. Through a particularly advantageous contractual arrangement, PSG secured between €50 million and €80 million from the sale of the Dutch attacking midfielder to RB Leipzig, a deal officially completed in the winter of 2025. Just months later, Simons made a subsequent move to Tottenham, where he swiftly became one of the key figures in the Spurs’ successful campaign.
Ronaldinho: a pre-QSI exception
Further down the hierarchy of PSG’s most substantial sales are Marco Verratti, who moved to Al-Arabi for €45 million in 2023, followed by Gonçalo Guedes, sold to Valencia for €40 million. Trailing them are David Luiz, who returned to Chelsea in 2016 for €35 million, and the legendary Ronaldinho. He stands as the sole representative from the pre-QSI era in this top 20 list, having been transferred to FC Barcelona for just over €30 million.
While awaiting the official confirmation of Gonçalo Ramos’s departure, another potential transfer could soon accelerate. Lee Kang-in, currently under contract until 2028, maintains a strong market value. The South Korean international, boasting 50 caps and 10 goals for his country, has attracted persistent interest from Atlético de Madrid, who have been closely monitoring his situation for several weeks.
