As the PSG-Arsenal Champions League final approaches, France’s major broadcasters are rolling out ambitious coverage plans. Canal+, M6 and L’Équipe are each deploying unique formats to bring the high-stakes clash in Budapest to audiences across the country.
canal+’s comprehensive live coverage
Canal+ holds exclusive rights to the Champions League and is pulling out all the stops for the final. Starting at 9am local time, Canal+ Foot will air a full day of pre-match analysis, live updates and special features.
- morning programming: continuous news bulletins and live links from Budapest, with expert commentary on PSG’s physical and mental preparation.
- la clinique des sports (13:00): a special edition examining the athletes’ readiness, hosted by Lyes Houhou with guests including Alain Roche.
- canal bus (13:00, Budapest): an immersive mobile studio capturing the city’s atmosphere, hosted by Jules Deremble.
- canal champions club (16:00): the iconic panel—Hervé Mathoux, Laure Boulleau, David Ginola, Robert Pirès, Christophe Jallet, Bertrand Latour and Gauthier Kuntzmann—will broadcast live from the pitchside in Puskás Arena.
- match commentary: Paul Tchoukriel and Sidney Govou will call the action, joined by Margot Dumont and Dominique Armand reporting from the touchline.
- late finale club (post-match): a prime-time wrap-up featuring Nicolas Tourriol, Samir Nasri, Aline Riera, Mickaël Landreau and Tony Chapron from Canal+ headquarters.
m6’s free-to-air approach
M6, the tournament’s terrestrial broadcaster, is assembling a star-studded team for the final. Xavier Domergue and Benoît Cheyrou will lead the commentary, supported by former defender Samuel Umtiti and pitch-side reporter Virginie Sainsily.
On the presentation desk, Ophélie Meunier and Smaïl Bouabdellah will host pre-match coverage from 17:00, joined by Ludovic Giuly, Johan Djourou and a rare appearance by Luis Fernandez—despite his concurrent World Cup commitments for beIN Sports.
l’équipe’s dedicated marathon
Though L’Équipe lacks Champions League rights, the sports channel is devoting its entire schedule to the final. From 16:45 to 18:00, Grégory Ascher hosts L’Équipe de Greg. At 18:45, Olivier Ménard takes over for L’Équipe de la mi-temps. The evening concludes with Messaoud Benterki, who will anchor L’Équipe du Soir and its late-night extension until 00:30.
A roster of pundits—including Johan Micoud, Jérôme Alonzo, Ludovic Obraniak, Raymond Domenech and Béatrice Kaboré—will provide expert insights throughout the broadcast.
