Issu hassana adoum unveils 60 years of chadian parliamentary history
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the blue hall of ONAMA hosted the unveiling of « The Evolution of Chadian Parliamentary Life from 1960 to 2020 », a 612-page book authored by former National Assembly deputy Issu Hassana Adoum.
Compiled through years of meticulous research, the publication is structured into five thematic chapters that offer a comprehensive examination of Chad’s parliamentary journey over six decades. The work delves into institutional progress, persistent challenges, key milestones, and the transformative shifts that have shaped the nation’s political landscape since gaining independence in 1960.
Issu Hassana Adoum emphasized that this book represents a significant scholarly contribution to understanding Chad’s political and institutional evolution. Designed as both an academic resource for researchers and students and a reference guide for policymakers and future generations, the book reflects the culmination of the author’s doctoral thesis, now expanded into a full-length publication.
The Arabic-language volume generated considerable discussion during the event. Attendees and commentators unanimously advocated for its complete translation into French, stressing that it would broaden access to this critical analysis of Chadian parliamentary development for a wider audience of scholars, educators, and readers.
The ceremony concluded with a book signing session where Issu Hassana Adoum personally greeted attendees and autographed copies of his work.
