Niamey, June 4, 2026 — The Prytanée Militaire de Niamey (PMN) celebrated its most outstanding students during a prestigious awards ceremony marking the close of the 2025-2026 academic year. Held under the distinguished patronage of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General of Division Salaou Barmou, the event underscored the academic achievements of the children of the troop who demonstrated exceptional dedication throughout the school year.

The ceremony recognized the top-performing students across all grade levels, from sixth grade to twelfth grade. Through this initiative, school leadership emphasized the importance of merit, hard work, and discipline—core values that underpin the rigorous training provided at this elite institution.

Notable figures graced the occasion, including members of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP), the Vice-President of the Council for National Refoundation (CCR), accredited diplomatic and consular representatives in Niger, the Governor of the Niamey region, officials from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), alongside parents and distinguished guests.

 

Outstanding academic achievements

The awards presented this year highlight the high academic standards upheld at the Prytanée Militaire de Niamey. The top performers’ scores reflect the dedication of the students and the quality of instruction delivered by the faculty and administration.

In the lower secondary cycle, the highest average reached 18.55 out of 20, while in the upper secondary cycle, the leading student achieved a 17.44 out of 20. These results not only showcase the students’ commitment but also the effectiveness of the school’s educational framework.
