President Romuald Wadagni of the Republic of Benin touched down in Ouagadougou on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, commencing a pivotal friendship and working visit to Burkina Faso.

Upon his arrival at Ouagadougou International Airport, President Wadagni was met with a ceremonial welcome by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. The two distinguished heads of state stood together as their national anthems were played, followed by the presentation of military honors.

Following the formal airport reception, the Burkinabè and Beninese leaders engaged in a private discussion held in the airport’s distinguished VIP lounge.

Subsequently, the two presidents proceeded to the Koulouba Presidential Palace, where a comprehensive working session is scheduled.
