Rabat recently served as the distinguished venue for the Morocco-India Economic Forum 2026. This significant event was orchestrated by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (CCISRSK), in close collaboration with the Embassy of India to the Kingdom and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The high-profile gathering brought together a prominent Indian delegation, comprising 21 executives from leading companies across various strategic sectors. They convened with Moroccan economic stakeholders from diverse industries, aiming to explore avenues for forging lasting partnerships and securing mutually beneficial investments.
During the forum, Hassan Sakhi, President of the CCISRSK, underscored the profound and enduring friendship between Morocco and India. He emphasized how this historical bond has blossomed into a robust, diversified, and continuously expanding economic partnership.
In a statement delivered on his behalf, Sakhi highlighted that a series of high-level ministerial initiatives and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed in key strategic areas vividly illustrate the dynamic political relationship between the two nations.
He further noted that the presence of such a distinguished Indian business delegation, representing sectors like automotive, agriculture, information technology, healthcare, and energy, serves as a clear indicator of the increasing attention Indian investors are directing towards the Moroccan market.
The vibrancy of bilateral exchanges is particularly evident in the substantial volume of economic trade between Morocco and India. Sakhi stressed Morocco’s firm commitment to further enhancing this dynamic, recognizing India as a crucial trade partner endowed with extensive technological and industrial expertise.
Mohan Puri, who led the CII delegation, expressed his conviction that both countries possess the capacity to construct a powerful trilateral partnership encompassing India, Morocco, and the wider African continent. He specifically lauded Morocco’s immense potential and robust capabilities.
Puri enthusiastically acknowledged the myriad opportunities Morocco presents, particularly in burgeoning fields such as renewable energies, green hydrogen, aviation, defense, and digital technologies. He affirmed that the Kingdom provides an ideal platform for companies from both nations to implement various projects and advance technological development.
The forum’s proceedings featured an insightful institutional video showcasing the economic strengths and investment prospects within the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. This was complemented by a documentary outlining Morocco’s business climate and the latest updates to its investment charter.
A significant highlight was the signing of a memorandum of understanding, designed to bolster trade exchanges, investments, and industrial collaborations between India and the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.
The event concluded with a productive networking session and a series of B2B meetings, facilitating direct engagement between members of both delegations.
