Togo’s University of Lomé forges five-year academic alliance with Creighton University
The University of Lomé (UL) has taken a significant step toward strengthening its global academic footprint. On Friday, June 5, 2026, the institution formalized a landmark cooperation agreement with Creighton University, a Jesuit institution headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, United States.
The memorandum was signed by UL’s President, Professor Kossivi Hounaké, and Creighton University’s President, Reverend Father Daniel Hendrickson. This partnership aims to deepen collaboration across teaching, research, and knowledge exchange initiatives.
The agreement outlines plans for joint degree programs, collaborative research projects, and enhanced mobility opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers. It also paves the way for shared academic events such as conferences, workshops, and symposia designed to foster cross-cultural and intellectual exchange.
Both universities have committed to pooling academic resources and developing joint projects while ensuring robust protections for intellectual property and strict confidentiality in research-related communications.
Long-term academic collaboration secured
This five-year agreement, renewable upon mutual consent, represents a milestone in international higher education cooperation for Togo. It positions the University of Lomé to further integrate into global academic networks and elevate its research and teaching standards.
With this collaboration, UL reaffirms its commitment to international openness and academic excellence, signaling a new chapter in higher education development in West Africa.
