The transport giant Uber is broadening its presence in Morocco by launching operations in Tangier and Agadir. This move is designed to support the nation’s thriving tourism industry and meet the needs of a growing number of travelers. Building on its established success in Casablanca and Rabat, the company is solidifying its role in one of the region’s top travel hubs, especially as the country prepares for the 2030 World Cup.

Enhancing mobility for international visitors

With a national goal of attracting 26 million visitors by 2030, Uber aims to provide safe, dependable, and easy transport options. The focus remains on enhancing the overall journey for international guests, streamlining travel from the moment they arrive at their hotels to their exploration of local landmarks and city centers. By entering the Agadir and Tangier markets, the platform addresses a rising need for efficient transit solutions, making it easier for people to navigate the kingdom.

Residents and tourists in these cities can now access the app to book rides, choosing between the UberX and UberXL options. These services mirror the offerings already available to users in the capital and the economic hub of the country.

Strong growth in the Moroccan tourism sector

Recent data highlights a significant upward trend in the sector, with Maroc welcoming a record 19.8 million visitors in 2025, representing a 14% increase from the prior year. Financial returns have been equally impressive, with tourism revenue reaching 124 billion dirhams between January and November. This momentum has continued into the first quarter of 2026, which saw 4.3 million arrivals, marking a growth of more than 7% compared to the same period the previous year.
