In a sharp response, Waly Diouf Bodian, a senior official of the Pastef party, has hit back at recent comments made by Professor Mary Teuw Niang regarding verbal violence and decorum in public discourse. The political figure accuses the former higher education minister of inconsistency, pointing to earlier attacks directed at Pastef leader Ousmane Sonko.

Bodian firmly dismisses the academic’s calls for restraint and questions his institutional stance. “After calling President Ousmane Sonko an impostor, Mary Teuw Niang now presumes to lecture us on civility and mutual respect. It is far too late for that, Professor,” Bodian asserted.

Continuing his rebuke, the Pastef representative added: “Your polished Sunday prose no longer resonates with us patriots. We do not respect those who show no respect for Ousmane Sonko.” He further accused Niang of drifting away from the nation’s core values and aligning himself with the current administration.
