Amadou Ba of Pastef details alleged Sonko-Touré phone exchanges

During these alleged conversations, the former Prime Minister reportedly made highly critical statements regarding Bassirou Diomaye Faye, according to the deputy.
At a recent press briefing organized by Pastef-Les Patriotes, Deputy Amadou Ba unveiled what he asserts to be the definitive account of telephone discussions purportedly held between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré during the period when the Prime Minister was incarcerated. This disclosure complements his ongoing defense of the head of government amidst the controversy surrounding public funds management.
As recounted by the deputy, Aminata Touré, who previously served as Prime Minister, allegedly expressed strong disapproval of Bassirou Diomaye Faye during one of these calls. “Diomaye is incapable of leading this nation. If you leave him here, he won’t last two years,” she reportedly confided to Ousmane Sonko, according to statements attributed to her by Amadou Ba.
Such a declaration, the parliamentarian now contends, appears irreconcilable with Aminata Touré’s current political stances. He accuses her of attempting to “alter history” and reinterpret past events to suit the evolving political landscape.
Despite the intense verbal exchanges now characterizing the two factions, Amadou Ba emphasized the importance of de-escalation, advocating for moderation over confrontation. “He is pushing us towards violence, and we will not engage in it,” he affirmed, reiterating Pastef’s commitment to prioritizing political discourse over direct conflict.
