Cameroon explores new tech to secure official documents
Cameroon’s Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallè Bibéhè, met on June 30, 2026 with officials from the National Printing Office and Impact Palmarès R&D to review technology-based solutions aimed at strengthening the security of administrative documents and transport titles.
The Ministry of Transport is continuing its work on modernising and securing administrative documents. To this end, Minister Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallè Bibéhè held a meeting with the Director General of the National Printing Office, Oyono Bika Pierre, and the Managing Director of Impact Palmarès R&D, Léonie Kwekam.
During the session, Impact Palmarès R&D unveiled a technical solution built on several cutting-edge technologies designed to boost the protection of official documents against counterfeiting. The proposed system would make documents much harder to duplicate while simplifying their authentication process.
Discussions also covered the security of transport documents issued by the ministry, secure marking of letterhead paper, as well as opportunities to improve the traceability of administrative documents and optimise non-tax revenue.
Welcoming the potential of the presented solutions, the Transport Minister nonetheless stressed the need to carry out further technical, legal, administrative and financial assessments before any implementation. The reform is intended to enhance the reliability and security of official documents.
