Abidjan – Endeavour Mining, a prominent player in the mining sector, has announced a significant financial contribution of 1,710 billion FCFA to Côte d’Ivoire’s economy between 2021 and 2025. This substantial investment includes 644 billion FCFA directed to the Ivorian government through taxes, royalties, and dividends, as detailed in its inaugural Country Impact Report for Côte d’Ivoire.

The report, aptly titled «Créer de la valeur tangible» (Creating Tangible Value), was unveiled on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Endeavour Mining’s headquarters in Cocody. It meticulously outlines the achievements of the Ity and Lafigué mines across economic contributions, community development initiatives, and environmental protection efforts.

Laetitia Gadegbeku-Ouattara, Vice-President of Public Affairs and Country Director for Endeavour in Côte d’Ivoire, presented the report’s findings, emphasizing how the Ity and Lafigué mines have transformed gold into a true catalyst for sustainable development over the past five years. She reiterated the group’s unwavering commitment to fostering a partnership built on trust, transparency, and shared progress.

Breaking down the 644 billion FCFA disbursed to the State, Gadegbeku-Ouattara specified that 398 billion FCFA originated from taxes, 149 billion FCFA from royalties, and 97 billion FCFA from dividends. Furthermore, the company reported allocating 904 billion FCFA towards procurement from national suppliers.

Endeavour Mining currently employs over 1,350 individuals, with 94% being Ivorian nationals. The company also collaborates with 4,390 service providers and more than 600 local suppliers, solidifying its position as a leading contributor to Côte d’Ivoire’s public revenue and the nation’s foremost gold producer.

In the health sector, Ms. Gadegbeku-Ouattara highlighted that over 120,000 individuals have benefited from the company and its foundation’s initiatives focused on prevention, screening, and access to healthcare. Notably, Health Caravans provided free consultations and treatments to nearly 4,000 people, while 64 patients received free cataract surgeries.

Dr. Youssouf Koné, Departmental Director of Health for Zouan-Hounien, affirmed that the collaboration with Endeavour provides crucial support in the ongoing fight against malaria, significantly benefiting communities residing near the Ity mine.

Regarding education, Endeavour’s educational programs reached over 4,000 children and young people between 2021 and 2025, and 842 students completed practical internships. Key human capital development initiatives include «Élites de Demain» (Tomorrow’s Elites), «Jeunes Filles en Scolarité» (Girls in School), and «Pépites d’Or» (Gold Nuggets).

The report also detailed an investment exceeding 2.8 billion FCFA in community infrastructure. These funds facilitated 71 projects for access to potable water and security, the rehabilitation of 16 roads benefiting over 360,000 people, the implementation of 10 rural electrification projects, and the issuance of 1,000 driving licenses to promote youth professional integration.

Economically, over 3,000 individuals benefited from 284 income-generating initiatives, funded with 487 million FCFA, with a particular focus on empowering women and youth. The «N’Goto Yetehe» program specifically provided vocational training to 63 young people across eight trades in Lafigué.

Environmentally, Endeavour reported planting over 158,000 trees and protecting or restoring 199 hectares of land between 2021 and 2025. Notable actions include the «Un enfant, un arbre» (One Child, One Tree) program, conducted with schools, and the restoration of 125 hectares of classified forests in partnership with SODEFOR. The company also highlighted its «Vers Zéro Plastique» (Towards Zero Plastic) strategy, which led to the elimination of over 1.3 million single-use plastic bottles, representing a 99% reduction in three years.

The Côte d’Ivoire Impact Report 2021-2025 was presented to the host communities of the Ity and Lafigué mines. Attendees included administrative and territorial authorities, customary leaders, as well as representatives from youth and women’s groups, and mining project steering committees.
