Fenerbahçe set to increase offer for Greenwood as OM faces time pressure
With no Champions League football next season, Olympique de Marseille must come to terms with losing key players, including Mason Greenwood. While AS Roma has shown interest in the English striker, Fenerbahçe is determined to take the lead in this transfer saga. A new bid could arrive in the coming days.

The question is no longer whether Mason Greenwood will leave Marseille during the summer transfer window, but when. The English forward holds the highest market value in the squad and must be sold to help the club balance its books. AS Roma, Atlético de Madrid, Fenerbahçe, and Al-Hilal are among the possible destinations. However, Marseille is not willing to undersell Greenwood, especially since Manchester United is entitled to 40% of the transfer fee.
Fenerbahçe ready to raise its bid
Fenerbahçe has already submitted a €35 million offer, which Marseille did not accept. That has not discouraged the Turkish club, which is reportedly preparing a new bid before the end of the month. Marseille is pushing in this direction and hopes to reach a quick solution, as the DNCG has requested additional information from the club before issuing its decision. Meanwhile, AS Roma has not yet given up.
What fee will Greenwood command?
The big question now is how much Marseille will ultimately receive, with the clock ticking. A few days ago, journalist Karim Bennati weighed in on the figures being discussed. “Six months ago, when Greenwood was on fire, we were talking about much higher amounts. Now, with Marseille’s poor finish to the season and his less impressive performances, is Marseille looking at €50 million? Seeing the prices paid elsewhere in Europe, a player who can score around twenty goals each season in Ligue 1 is a bargain. If I were Marseille, I would wait a bit longer. They have a clause that pushes the price to €60 million on July 1, so I’d hold out and try to find a buyer,” he said.
