The Rassemblement pour la Patrie et la Modernité (RPM), a key political party within Gabon’s presidential majority, has expressed its warm congratulations to President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. Through a statement issued by its spokesperson, Etienne Francky Meba Ondo, the party lauded the head of state’s relentless efforts and dynamic actions dedicated to the nation between August 9 and August 30.

In the official document, titled “From action to results”, the political group expressed strong appreciation for recent healthcare initiatives, visible infrastructure developments, the president’s active field engagement, and his clear focus on regional decentralization.

Major financial injection for Gabonese healthcare

The RPM highlighted the significant funding announcement made on August 30 in Makokou, which allocates 55 billion CFA francs to the medical sector. This package includes 44 billion CFA francs to upgrade national technical facilities, 6 billion CFA francs to reopen hospital cafeterias, and an additional 5 billion CFA francs to boost the National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund (CNAMGS). Recognizing these measures as direct answers to the core needs of the population, the party insisted on a swift and effective execution of these commitments.

Decentralizing development beyond the capital

Furthermore, the statement pointed to the commissioning of various administrative, commercial, healthcare, and security facilities across Grand Libreville. It also noted 17 major structural initiatives launched in the Ogooué-Ivindo province during the Liberation Day celebrations held in Makokou at the end of August. To illustrate this drive for local development, the party cited the Mayiga housing project, which already boasts 50 completed homes, 25 currently under construction, and a final target of 500 serviced residential plots.

Reflecting on the celebrations marking Gabon’s 66th independence anniversary and the third anniversary of the Liberation Coup, the RPM fully embraced the president’s own philosophy: “The time for promises must give way to the time for proof.” The party declared its commitment to this standard, emphasizing that the true measure of any government program lies in its practical, daily benefits for the citizens of Gabon.

Strengthening regional ties and future prospects

The political organization also welcomed the official visit of Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to Libreville, which culminated in the signing of three bilateral cooperation agreements.

Looking forward, the RPM encouraged the government to maintain this positive momentum, specifically regarding project completion, the long-term maintenance of newly built facilities, and the creation of job opportunities for the youth. The party reaffirmed its loyal and responsible support for all national unity and modernization efforts.

Led by Alexandre Barro Chambrier, who currently serves as the Vice President of the Republic, the RPM joined the coalition backing President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema during the presidential election on April 12, 2025. While maintaining its political independence, the party continues to hold three seats in the National Assembly.
