Diplomatic ties strengthened as Kenya and Chad reinforce shared security and economic goals

The Kenyan head of state, William Ruto, warmly acknowledged this Wednesday, 15 May the robust partnership between Kenya and Chad, while praising the proactive stance of Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno in advancing international security and championing the Africa Forward Summit.

Following a productive meeting at the State House in Nairobi, William Ruto underscored the depth of bilateral relations, describing them as “anchored in mutual respect, shared values, and African solidarity.” He reiterated the commitment of both nations to align their strategies “to uplift African communities, drive continental progress, and strengthen global cooperation.”

Highlighting Chad’s involvement in the UN-backed Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, the Kenyan leader commended the country’s contribution to restoring peace and stability in the Caribbean nation. “Chad’s dedication to international peacekeeping is a testament to our collective resolve to foster hope and security beyond our borders,” he stated.

The Kenyan president also expressed gratitude to his Chadian counterpart for playing a key role in ensuring the success of the Africa Forward Summit, hosted this week in Nairobi. The event brought together African and international partners to redefine economic, political, and security collaboration in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
