Liverpool agree personal terms with Yan Diomande, PSG left behind in €120m race
Paris Saint-Germain were in the race for Yan Diomande, but the Ivorian international has instead given his word to Liverpool. The English club now need to find common ground with RB Leipzig, who want €120 million for the 19-year-old winger.

Yan Diomande only joined RB Leipzig a year ago from Leganes, yet it seems he will not spend a second season in Germany. The Ivory Coast international, who scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions during the 2025-2026 campaign, is currently at the 2026 World Cup. He has been heavily pursued by PSG and Liverpool, with the latter now in the lead.
Liverpool and Diomande Reach Personal Terms
PSG coach Luis Enrique was personally involved in the pursuit, but that has not swayed Diomande. The Ivorian has agreed personal terms with Liverpool, who view him as the long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. The next step is negotiating a transfer fee with RB Leipzig, where Diomande is under contract until 2030. The German club is demanding €120 million to let him go.
Diomande Lets His Agents Handle the Situation
Even Elephants coach Emerse Faé was asked about Diomande’s future. After Ivory Coast’s 1-0 win over Ecuador, Faé said: “When we were in France preparing, journalists said he would sign for PSG. Now I arrive in the United States and I hear he will sign for Liverpool. We’ll see. I think he is very focused on the World Cup first, and then he will make the best decision for his career.” Diomande himself deflected the questions: “My agents are handling it. I am focused on my World Cup. That is the most important thing. This only happens every four years, so I am enjoying it to the fullest. The rest we will see.”
