Government targets Sahel terror networks with financial incentives
In a decisive move to dismantle terror networks threatening Mali’s stability, the government has announced cash rewards for the capture or elimination of seven high-profile militant commanders. The initiative, backed by the Ministry of Security, offers bounties ranging from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs for verified intelligence leading to their arrest or neutralization.
The designated individuals include some of the most wanted figures in the Sahel, whose alleged roles in orchestrating attacks have left a trail of destruction across the region. Among those targeted are:
- Iyad Ag Ghali – 2 billion CFA francs
- Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré (Amadou Kouffa) – 1.5 billion CFA francs
- Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo (Doulé Bib de Nampala) – 1.5 billion CFA francs
- Alghabass Ag Intallah – 1 billion CFA francs
The Ministry of Security emphasized that these figures are actively sought for their suspected involvement in planning and executing terror operations that have claimed lives and destabilized communities. Authorities have called on citizens to remain vigilant and share any credible information that could aid in their identification or apprehension.
Security forces have been instructed to prioritize these cases, leveraging all available resources to bring the listed individuals to justice. The move underscores Mali’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring peace in the Sahel.
