On Saturday, 27 June 2026, the Malian branch of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema held the national preselection phase for the third edition of its prestigious Hadith Nabawi Acharif memorisation contest at its headquarters in Banankabougou. After a day of intense competition, three candidates were selected to represent Mali in the grand international final, which will bring together winners from 49 countries.

This contest follows the recommendations of the Supreme Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema. The preselection phase brought together 50 candidates from various madrasas and Holy Quran memorisation centres, coming from Bamako and other regions of the country.

Through this initiative, the foundation aims to encourage African youth to embrace prophetic teachings. The fundamental objective is to promote the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and moderation embodied in these sacred texts.

Candidates competed in three categories: discipline 1 (40 Hadiths – elementary level), won by Ahmad Sow; discipline 2 (30 Hadiths – intermediate level), won by Mouhamad Diallo; and discipline 3 (30 Hadiths – advanced level), won by Boubacar Traoré.
