In a significant move to strengthen Morocco’s judicial system, His Majesty the King has announced key appointments to the Supreme Judicial Council. The decisions, made during a private audience, reflect the monarch’s commitment to judicial excellence and institutional renewal.

The most notable change is the reappointment of Mr. Mohamed Abdennabaoui as first president of the Court of Cassation—a position he will hold for a second term. In this role, he will also serve as delegated president of the Supreme Judicial Council, reinforcing his influence in shaping the judiciary’s future.

Two new faces have joined the Council: Ms. Latifa El Harradji and Mr. Nadir El Moumni, both sworn in before His Majesty during the ceremony. Their nominations underscore the King’s vision for a more dynamic and inclusive judicial framework.

Additionally, the monarch approved the renewal of Mr. Farid El Bacha’s term and extended the mandates of Mr. Mohamed Zouak and Mr. Mohamed Ennasser for a second consecutive period. These appointments align with constitutional provisions governing the Council’s composition.

The oath-taking ceremony, held in the presence of the King, marked the official start of the new appointees’ duties, signaling a fresh chapter for Morocco’s judicial governance.
