Morocco’s crucial role in 2026 world cup security recognized by the fbi
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Deputy Director Christopher Raia recently visited the International Police Cooperation Centre (IPCC). This crucial hub brings together law enforcement agencies and security services from all nations participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
The visit formed a vital part of the high-level security framework established to safeguard all matches of the global tournament. During his engagement, the American official held a dedicated meeting with representatives from Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) joint division.
Christopher Raia extended his profound gratitude to the Moroccan delegation for their nation’s active involvement in securing the event and its significant contributions across all stages of the tournament. He affirmed the FBI’s view of the Kingdom of Morocco as a highly dependable partner, distinguished by its internationally acknowledged expertise and unwavering credibility.

Addressing the foreign security service representatives gathered at the IPCC, the FBI Deputy Director delivered a key speech. In his remarks, he underscored the paramount importance of international partnership and multilateral cooperation, particularly in intelligence sharing, for the comprehensive security apparatus of the World Cup, which the United States is co-hosting.
Furthermore, he highlighted the immense challenge involved in securing 78 matches over a span of nearly two weeks. He stressed that achieving this ambitious goal would be unattainable without robust and coordinated international collaboration.
Christopher Raia also pointed to a noticeable increase in the number of threats successfully neutralized by American authorities within their borders. He attributed this critical success directly to the precision of shared intelligence and the consistent support provided by partner nations.
