Mustapha Ngouana asserts that Cameroon has grown accustomed to a pattern of unfulfilled promises and disregarded commitments.
During his appearance on the “Droit de réponse” program broadcast on Equinoxe TV, Mustapha Ngouana painted a picture of persistent governmental failures in Cameroon, characterized by a series of unkept pledges.
“The President of the Republic of Cameroon has repeatedly made decisions with deadlines that were never honored. Consider a few examples. Regarding the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), the President declared it would proceed as scheduled, yet it did not. The President had fifty years to prepare for the fiftieth anniversary of reunification; it was meant to be celebrated in 2011 but only occurred in 2014,” Ngouana stated during the Equinoxe TV broadcast.
The central theme of the debate, “Broken Trust: Public Opinion Facing Unkept Promises,” provided a platform for Ngouana to underscore what he termed the “permanent missteps” in the Head of State’s administration.
“I believe the President is caught in a continuous cycle of governance errors. Our nation is at a standstill. When people refer to it as misgovernance, I think they are being too kind; it is, in fact, a complete lack of governance. Cameroon is simply running on autopilot.”
