Ousmane Sonko emphasizes internal unity as Pastef’s ultimate strength in Mbacké

During the inauguration of Pastef’s new headquarters in Mbacké, party president Ousmane Sonko delivered a powerful address, urging political officials to prioritize solidarity. He issued a stern warning against internal rivalries, which he believes could significantly undermine the party’s momentum. Speaking directly to the cadre of his political movement, the Pastef leader underscored that maintaining cohesion is the sole guarantee for success in upcoming political battles.

Sonko acknowledged that individual ambition is not inherently negative but cautioned that it becomes detrimental when it jeopardizes collective unity and the effectiveness of the party’s actions. Confident in Pastef’s widespread popular base, Ousmane Sonko asserted that the party remains robust, thanks to the unwavering support of at least 70% of the population. Consequently, he believes Pastef faces no formidable external adversaries. For him, the most significant threat originates from within the party itself, thus emphasizing the individual and collective responsibility of all officials.

The President of the National Assembly subsequently called upon leaders to collaborate closely, facing future challenges as a united front. He also made it clear that if this essential unity were to falter, he would not hesitate to take decisive action and implement necessary measures, a statement that hints at potential sanctions or internal reorganizations.
