Peru reaffirms backing for Morocco’s autonomy plan and territorial integrity
Elected Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori’s transition team confirms Lima’s renewed commitment to supporting Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern provinces.

This stance was articulated during a meeting between the elected president and Morocco’s Ambassador to Peru, Amin Chaoudri, who presented a congratulatory message from His Majesty King Mohammed VI following her election victory.
During the discussions, Peru’s upcoming administration emphasized its unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern provinces, according to a statement from the president-elect’s office. Keiko Fujimori also reaffirmed her full alignment with UN Security Council Resolution 2797, which endorses the autonomy plan as the foundation for resolving the long-standing regional dispute over Western Sahara, as noted in the same statement.
In his congratulatory message to Keiko Fujimori, King Mohammed VI conveyed sincere congratulations to the president-elect for the trust placed in her by the Peruvian people to advance progress and prosperity. The Moroccan monarch also highlighted the strong bonds uniting Morocco and Peru, built on mutual respect, shared values, and deep-rooted friendship.
Expressing his commitment to deepening bilateral ties, the King underscored his determination to collaborate closely with Fujimori to elevate the partnership to a multidimensional level, serving the best interests of both nations.
