The Paris Saint-Germain did not shatter audience records during their back-to-back UEFA Champions League victory, falling short of last season’s historic milestone.

While the club clinched the trophy with a commanding 2-0 win over Arsenal at the end of a tightly contested final, the television broadcast did not match the 11.5 million average viewers who tuned in for last year’s 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan. This time, viewership dipped to 9.1 million across TF1 and M6, with a peak of 13.5 million during the closing minutes of the match.

The decline in numbers can be attributed to a scheduling clash with the third round of Roland-Garros, where rising French tennis star Moïse Kouamé was battling on the court. His match, which drew 3 million viewers, overlapped with the Ligue des champions final, forcing fans to choose between football and tennis.

Kouamé, clad in a PSG jersey, joked about missing the dramatic penalty shootout that decided the Champions League. “I caught the end, including the worst moment,” he quipped after his four-set loss to Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo. The young player admitted it was “a small consolation for a lost match,” though his demeanor remained upbeat.
