Senegal arrests man linked to prime minister in alleged unnatural acts case
A prominent figure with close ties to Senegal’s Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has been taken into custody by the Criminal Investigations Division (DIC) in connection with an ongoing case involving alleged unnatural acts.
Matar Ndiaga Seck was apprehended following an arrest warrant issued by authorities in Linguère, a town in the northern region of Senegal. Investigators allege that Seck is connected to a broader inquiry into the detention of 22 individuals accused of violating public decency laws in the Djolof area.
The DIC justified the arrest on the grounds of converging evidence linking Seck to the alleged offenses. While official charges have not yet been formally announced, the investigation remains active, with authorities continuing to gather testimonies and corroborating details.
This case has drawn significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the individual involved and the sensitive nature of the allegations. The outcome of the proceedings could have broader implications for political and social discourse in the country.
