Lionceaux U15 : la FSF s’explique sur les 100 000 FCFA après le sacre

During a ceremony held last Tuesday, the Sénégal U15 squad presented their trophy from the African School Football Championship. At the same event, the national U17 team received the national flag before their departure for the 2026 U17 AFCON. Both delegations were presented with symbolic checks during the proceedings.

Clarification on the 100,000 FCFA payment

The young U15 champions, who recently secured their title in Zimbabwe, were reportedly given 100,000 FCFA each. This specific amount triggered significant debate and questions regarding the nature of the compensation for such a prestigious victory.

In response to the growing controversy, the Fédération sénégalaise de football (FSF) issued an official statement this Thursday. The governing body clarified that, under current Confédération africaine de football (CAF) regulations, direct cash bonuses for victories are strictly prohibited in school-level competitions.

The FSF further explained that the $300,000 total prize awarded to the winner is not intended for individual distribution or direct payment to the federation. Instead, these funds are managed by CAF to finance specific projects. In collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and the FSF, this budget is allocated toward purchasing sports equipment, developing infrastructure, and establishing educational programs to enhance school football in Sénégal.

To conclude, the federation emphasized that the funds distributed to the players were exclusively for transport expenses. This allowance was provided to ensure all athletes could return to their homes in safe and comfortable conditions.
