World Vision Tchad : Une Stratégie Ambitieuse pour 2030

In a significant event held this Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Residence Hotel in N’Djamena, World Vision Tchad officially unveiled its national strategy for 2026-2030. The launch gathered media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities. This new roadmap sets an ambitious goal: to positively impact 3.29 million children by 2030, with a particular focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. Enhanced interventions are planned across critical sectors including health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, based in Dakar, characterized the new strategy as both “audacious and groundbreaking” during her address. She elaborated that its foundation lies in the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus” approach, which is designed to interlink emergency responses with long-term sustainable development and peace consolidation actions. Denizard firmly stated that Chadian children deserve a life of abundance, asserting that this vision is attainable through robust partnerships, strong community engagement, and the thoughtful integration of local cultural and spiritual realities.

Continuing her remarks, Denizard underscored World Vision’s overarching vision for the West and Central African region: to empower every child in the most fragile environments not only to survive but also to flourish completely. She highlighted the persistent formidable challenges facing the region, such as pervasive insecurity, widespread multidimensional poverty, the escalating impacts of climate change, and significant population displacements. In response to this complex landscape, the organization has firmly committed to an integrated strategy that harmonizes humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peacebuilding initiatives.

She further explained that World Vision Tchad’s strategy is meticulously aligned with key continental and international frameworks. These include the African Union’s Agenda 2063, specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Tchad’s own Vision 2030. The plan places significant emphasis on strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection mechanisms, fostering adaptation to climate change, improving educational outcomes through the “Unlock Literacy” program, and ensuring robust child protection.

Taking the podium, Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, the National Director of World Vision Tchad, declared this launch a “historic moment” for both the organization and the future generation of Chadian children. He revealed that this new strategy represents a substantial 20% increase in the organization’s aspirations compared to its previous strategic cycle. Wangoy reiterated their clear yet bold objective: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, with 3.09 million of these being the most vulnerable. “Our unwavering desire is for every child in Tchad to not just survive, but to truly thrive,” he affirmed.

The National Director also reminded attendees of the numerous challenges still confronting Tchad, including persistent poverty, widespread malnutrition, frequent humanitarian crises, and the severe repercussions of climate change. Citing data compiled by World Vision, he pointed out that nearly 42% of the Chadian population lives below the poverty line, underscoring the urgent necessity to intensify efforts for the nation’s most vulnerable communities.

He elaborated that the 2026-2030 strategy is built upon several core priority areas. These include bolstering integrated nutrition and health services, with a specific focus on maternal and child health; elevating educational standards through the innovative “Unlock Literacy” program, designed to cultivate reading skills from early schooling years; safeguarding children from all forms of violence; and strengthening community resilience in the face of escalating climate change impacts.

Concluding the presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a powerful appeal to all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to unite their efforts to ensure the strategy’s resounding success. The organization firmly believes that collective mobilization is absolutely essential to transform current challenges into lasting opportunities for Chadian children. Through this ambitious 2026-2030 strategy, World Vision is dedicated to actively contributing to the realization of Tchad’s Vision 2030 and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, ultimately aiming to build a nation where every child is protected, well-nourished, educated, and empowered to fully thrive.
