2026 hajj safety rules: ORGEP urges chadian pilgrims to comply

The Hajj 2026 is set to proceed under strict guidelines after a landmark international conference held on May 20, 2026, in Jeddah, where Saudi authorities outlined key recommendations to ensure a smooth and secure pilgrimage. Leading the Chadian delegation at this critical meeting was the head of the National Pilgrimage Organization Office (ORGEP), General Idriss Dokony Adiker.

Essential safety and discipline measures for Chadian pilgrims

In a newly released advisory, the ORGEP has emphasized the absolute necessity for all Chadian pilgrims to adhere strictly to the directives issued by Saudi authorities. These measures prioritize three core areas: security, health, and discipline.

Prohibited activities and locations

  • Political and partisan religious discussions are strictly forbidden within accommodations and on the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
  • Political meetings or gatherings of any kind are also banned across all pilgrimage locations.

Accommodation and hospitality rules

Pilgrims are reminded that unauthorized individuals are not permitted to stay in the same hotels or on the ritual sites. Each pilgrim must ensure compliance with accommodation and hosting regulations to avoid penalties and maintain order.

Health precautions in extreme heat

With temperatures soaring in Saudi Arabia, authorities have issued strong warnings to avoid outdoor activities between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. This precaution is vital to minimize health risks such as heatstroke and dehydration. Additionally, pilgrims are advised to limit long walks between ritual sites to preserve their physical endurance.

Special provisions for vulnerable pilgrims

The ORGEP has highlighted that elderly, ill, or physically challenged pilgrims may appoint a representative to perform the stoning of the pillars (Djamarat) on their behalf. This measure aims to ensure that all individuals, regardless of physical condition, can participate in the rites safely.

Emergency assistance

In the event of an emergency or difficulty, pilgrims must immediately contact the dedicated Saudi assistance hotline at 1966. Prompt reporting of any issues will facilitate rapid intervention and support.

A call for collective responsibility

The ORGEP has urged all Chadian pilgrims to fully comply with these guidelines to safeguard their well-being and contribute to a peaceful and orderly Hajj 2026. By following these instructions, pilgrims will not only protect themselves but also uphold the dignity and sanctity of this sacred journey.
