Abidjan, 24 July 2026 (AIP) – Adama Bictogo, the mayor of Yopougon municipality, will embark on a political tour across four political formations in his constituency ahead of Côte d’Ivoire’s 66th Independence Day celebrations.
- He will begin by meeting with COJEP militants at Kouté on Saturday
- Followed by a meeting with PDCI-RDA activists at Sicogi Vegas at 3pm
- A stop at the RHDP headquarters at 4pm
- And finally, a meeting with FPI activists in Maroc Kimi at 5pm
This initiative is part of the Committee for Organizing Yopougon National Day’s inclusive mobilization drive aimed at bringing together all political sensibilities in the commune to ensure its success.
The choice of Yopougon as the host city for Côte d’Ivoire’s 66th Independence Day celebrations holds significant meaning, reflecting the diversity of Ivorian politics and society. Organizers aim to turn the celebration into a unifying moment beyond party lines.
The tour aims to strengthen grassroots involvement in preparing this event, which will involve all parts of the city.
This follows a series of meetings held since July 13, where representatives from RHDP, PDCI-RDA, FPI and COJEP discussed preparations for the festivities. The aim is a unified command to ensure success.
