Boko haram resurgence in lake Chad region sparks nigerian military response
Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno vowed to intensify efforts against the growing threat posed by Boko Haram. In a statement released on Facebook, he declared, “We will persist in our fight with renewed vigor until this menace is completely eradicated.” This decisive message followed a brutal assault by an offshoot of the extremist group on a military outpost in Barka Tolorom, situated along the Chadian shoreline of Lake Chad. The brazen attack claimed the lives of 24 soldiers, highlighting the persistent danger these insurgents represent.
