The Government of Burkina Faso has officially introduced Dɛmɛ Sira, a groundbreaking digital platform designed to amplify national solidarity efforts across the country. Launched on June 2, 2026, in Ouagadougou, this initiative marks a significant step toward modernizing public social policies through technology.

The ceremony was led by Lieutenant-Colonel Passowendé Pélagie Kabré/Kaboré, Minister of Family and Social Solidarity, with Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabané, Minister of Digital Transition, Posts and Electronic Communications, serving as the event’s patron.

Translating to “the path of solidarity”, Dɛmɛ Sira is a digital platform built to streamline citizen contributions to social and humanitarian programs supporting vulnerable populations. Open to all Burkinabè—both within the country and abroad—the platform provides a transparent, accessible channel for public participation in solidarity initiatives.

Accessible via the Ministry of Solidarity’s official portal, the platform aligns with broader efforts to integrate digital tools into public governance, enhancing efficiency and accountability in social programs.

During the launch, the Minister of Family and Social Solidarity emphasized that the platform embodies the government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive solidarity model powered by digital innovation. She also commended the technical and institutional teams behind the platform’s development and deployment.

Dɛmɛ Sira represents Burkina Faso’s dedication to leveraging technology for social good, strengthening citizen engagement while improving the effectiveness and traceability of social actions for those most in need.

This initiative also highlights the growing role of public digital platforms in Africa, where technology is increasingly used not just for administrative services but also as a tool for citizen participation and social cohesion.
