The Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Crafts, Abakar Rozzi Téguil, officially inaugurated the 2026 Music Festival at N’Djamena’s Hilton roundabout. The launch ceremony drew government officials, cultural sector leaders, artists, promoters, and a diverse crowd eager to celebrate Chad’s rich musical heritage.

Themed “Music as a Tool for Social Cohesion,” this year’s edition seeks to strengthen dialogue, social harmony, and community bonds through artistic expression. In his address, the Minister underscored culture’s pivotal role in national unity, aligning the festival with President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s vision of social cohesion as a key public policy priority.

“This year, we’ve prioritized an inclusive, decentralized celebration accessible to all,” he stated. “The theme reflects music’s universal power to foster dialogue, peace, and togetherness amid today’s global challenges.”

To expand cultural reach, the festival will feature a mobile music tour hitting all ten districts of N’Djamena and multiple provinces nationwide. The goal: bring performances beyond traditional venues into neighborhoods, public squares, and rural areas to unite citizens around shared values of brotherhood and solidarity.

“Music isn’t confined to concert halls—it belongs in every village and community,” the Minister emphasized. “By taking it to people’s doorsteps, we’re nurturing national pride and empowering young talent.”

The celebrations will showcase live performances and cultural activities designed to highlight local artists. Organizers view the event as a chance to spotlight Chad’s creative industries as engines for economic growth and youth development.
