Gabon prosecutor general Eddy Minang suspended for three months, replaced immediately
By decision No. 000007/MJGSCDH, taken on June 9, 2026, by the Minister of Justice, Keep of the Seals, Augustin Emane, and notified to Dr. Eddy Narcisse Minang, Prosecutor General at the Libreville Judicial Court of Appeal, a senior magistrate, has been subject to a precautionary suspension from his duties for a period of three months. The magistrate is suspected of involvement in an occult influence network linked to scandalous affairs.
Dr. Eddy Narcisse Minang was heard for several hours at the Presidency of the Republic before the suspension order was signed by the Minister of Justice. The interim has been immediately entrusted to Thalie Aubone Nguema, wife of Edjo, also a senior magistrate, in line with the principle of continuity of public service.
Dr. Eddy Minang out of the judiciary for three months and more
This provisional sidelining is reportedly motivated by heavy suspicions of interference and obstruction of public action. At the heart of the storm are several sensitive financial cases, including a dispute involving the company Covec Gabon for an amount estimated at 4 billion CFA francs. However, the real trigger appears to be the case known as the Central Directorate of Financial Affairs (DCAF) of the Ministry of National Education.
Made public in early June 2026 by the public prosecutor at the Libreville Tribunal of First Instance, Dick Fabrice Boungou Mikolo, this case of overbilling led to the arrest of about twenty agents for a financial loss estimated between 560 and 700 million CFA francs. The suspended prosecutor general is suspected of having used his influence to short-circuit the ongoing investigation. It appears that this inexplicable move may be linked to geographic ties with the DCAF director, both hailing from the Woleu-Ntem region. We will follow up on this story.
