Gabon’s 7mp party expands territorial base alongside president Oligui Nguema
After a 20-day journey across all nine provinces of Gabon, Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma, founding president of the Party for the 7 Wonders of the Gabonese People (7MP), presented the results of a mission that went well beyond simple outreach. The tour included restructuring local party bodies, recounting active members, and strengthening the Movement Oligui Nguema 100% (MON 100%). This effort shows the 7MP’s drive to reinforce its position within the presidential majority under the Fifth Republic.
From June 4 to June 23, 2026, Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma covered the entire national territory, meeting activists, supporters, local officials, and the public. He announced this tour during a press conference at the 7MP headquarters in Libreville, as part of a strategy to revive the political party and consolidate backing for President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. Founded in 2010, the 7MP now defines itself as a party aligned with the presidential camp. The MON 100%, launched in February 2025, was designed to support the head of state’s reforms and mobilize citizens around his agenda.
A tour aimed at political restructuring
Beyond meeting with residents, this mission sought to reorganize party structures across the country. According to 7MP officials, the work involved recounting active members, enrolling new supporters, identifying new local leaders, and enhancing provincial coordination. The MON 100% also used the tour to extend its reach into all nine provinces, aiming to unite more citizens behind the president’s vision.
For Ngoueneni Ndzengouma, this tour takes place against the backdrop of establishing the Fifth Republic’s institutions. Discussions with militants reaffirmed the 7MP’s role as a political force standing with the head of state and endorsing the reforms begun during the Transition. This step is part of a broader realignment of Gabon’s political scene, where many parties seek to solidify their territorial presence following the presidential, legislative, and local elections.
A field-oriented outlook
After the mission, the 7MP announced several measures to continue its development: strengthening provincial coordination, increasing community meetings, structuring the MON 100%, and creating a permanent mechanism to gather public concerns.
Beyond the organizational achievements, this tour marks a step in the 7MP’s strategy to secure its place within the presidential majority and support the Fifth Republic’s political direction, while aiming to boost its presence among communities throughout the national territory.
