Khalifa Sall’s bold opposition to Diomaye-Sonko at Taxawu Sénégal founding congress

The founding congress of Taxawu Sénégal unfolded this past Sunday, uniting key opposition figures from across the nation. Among the attendees were prominent names like Aïssata Tall Sall, Bamba Fall, Oumar Sarr of the FDR, Me Elhadj Diouf, Alioune Ndoye of the Parti socialiste, Abdoulaye Wilanne, and Doudou Wade—signaling a strategic alliance against the current administration.

The event served as a platform for Khalifa Sall, Taxawu Sénégal‘s leader and former Mayor of Dakar, to deliver a sharp critique of the governing duo, Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Ousmane Sonko. In a scathing address, he accused the regime of neglecting the hardships faced by ordinary Senegalese, emphasizing its preoccupation with self-interest over public welfare.

Taxawu Sénégal has positioned itself as a formidable force in the political arena, vowing to challenge the status quo. Khalifa Sall’s declaration—“They are entangled in Baara Yeego, a web of hidden schemes and shady deals at the heart of the State.”—underscored the mounting frustration within opposition ranks.

The opposition coalition is now rallying behind a unified agenda, with Khalifa Sall pledging an organized and relentless political response. He warned, “They will face an opposition that is united, resolute, and determined to remove them from power, as the Senegalese people have endured unprecedented suffering.” This vow sets the stage for a high-stakes showdown in upcoming elections, where Taxawu Sénégal aims to spearhead change.
