Laurent Gbagbo reshuffles PPA-CI leadership with five key appointments

Laurent Gbagbo has restructured the leadership of the Ivorian Popular Party for Peace and Solidarity (PPA-CI) by appointing five high-ranking officials to key positions within the party’s executive committee.

Originally, the former President had hinted at delegating some of his powers to a single individual. However, he ultimately opted for a collective approach, entrusting these five seasoned party members with distinct but complementary roles.

Meet the newly appointed leaders

• Assoa Adou, first vice-president, will oversee adherence to the party’s ideological principles and strategic direction.
• Hubert Oulaye, second vice-president, is tasked with managing internal party affairs and presiding over central committee meetings.
• Emmanuel Ackah, former Ambassador, assumes the role of third vice-president, focusing on revitalizing the party’s grassroots engagement and youth outreach.
• Justin Katinan Koné retains his position as head of general policy, ensuring continuity in the party’s political strategy.
• Sébastien Dano Djédjé takes charge of the newly created Strategic and Political Council, responsible for aligning the party’s vision with national priorities.
