The descendants of Serigne Touba have officially filed a lawsuit against prominent political figure Ousmane Sonko, citing allegations of defamation and the spread of false information. Legal representation for the plaintiffs is being handled by Attorney Aboubacry Barro, as confirmed by Babacar Malick on the platform X.

The legal action follows statements attributed to Sonko, in which he claimed that « substantial funds have recently been directed to Touba,» adding that « this money belongs to the nation and was obtained through theft. »

The opposition leader further asserted that while these financial resources « are not intended for political purposes, » they are being used to « meet political demands. »
