Lomé unites for life-saving blood donation drive on june 12
As the 22nd World Blood Donor Day approaches on June 14, 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) in Lomé is rallying residents of the capital and surrounding areas to take part in a vital blood donation campaign.
Under this year’s theme—« A drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives »—the event will feature a special blood collection drive on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Where to donate in Lomé
Donors have two convenient options for participating:
- The National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) headquarters in Tokoin Doumasséssé, directly across from EPP Doumasséssé 1;
- The Tokoin Collection and Distribution Post (PCD), located within the Sylvanus Olympio University Teaching Hospital, behind the hemodialysis unit.
A call for solidarity to make a difference
This initiative aims to bolster the city’s blood supply and meet the urgent needs of local health facilities. The CNTS is urging the public to come forward in large numbers, emphasizing that a single donation can save multiple lives.
« We are all connected through the gift of blood », the CNTS emphasizes, calling on the generosity and civic spirit of donors to ensure the campaign’s success.
The center extends its gratitude in advance to all volunteers for their selfless contribution, which will directly support patients in need of life-saving transfusions.
