Morocco’s commitment to the Gaza stabilization mission

This visit follows through on the Kingdom’s commitments as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council, in line with the Royal directives announced during the Council’s inaugural meeting in Washington under the chairmanship of former US President Donald Trump.

The highlight of the meeting was the signing of the agreement formalizing Morocco’s participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza, as stated in a statement from the National Defense Administration.

Leveraging Morocco’s peacekeeping expertise

During the discussions, the Moroccan delegation emphasized that the Kingdom’s involvement in the ISF reflects its deep commitment to peace, cooperation, and international solidarity. This participation will play a crucial role in advancing peace and security in the Middle East.

Additionally, the Moroccan side highlighted the Kingdom’s extensive experience in UN-led peacekeeping operations and its unwavering dedication to regional and international peace and stability. The discussion also underscored the Royal initiatives spearheaded by His Majesty the King, particularly regional integration projects that impact security and social progress.

Gaza Peace Council officials and the ISF Commander warmly welcomed Morocco’s adhesion to this peace initiative. This includes the deployment of high-ranking officers from the FAR to the ISF joint command, personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the National Security Directorate, as well as the establishment of a field military hospital.

Following the discussions, both parties signed the agreement formalizing Morocco’s participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.

This agreement establishes the legal framework for the technical and operational aspects of Morocco’s involvement, demonstrating a shared commitment to contribute through concrete humanitarian and security actions to fostering peace and stability in the region, the statement concluded.
