Security efforts at the Chad-central african republic border

The militaries of Chad and the Central African Republic are intensifying efforts to bolster security along their shared border, a region plagued by recurring threats. A strategic meeting, led by General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, Commander of the Chad-CAR joint force, took place recently to assess recent joint operations and address emerging security concerns.

Joint missions under scrutiny

Several high-ranking military officials from both nations convened to review the outcomes of Operation Al-Hamamia 1 and Operation Al-Hamamia 2, two critical initiatives aimed at curbing cross-border criminal activities. Discussions also highlighted persistent security challenges in key border towns and villages.

Planning for enhanced protection

During the talks, participants explored innovative approaches to strengthen defensive measures in high-risk sectors. The focus included deploying additional military units, supported by both fixed and mobile surveillance outposts, to detect and deter suspicious movements more effectively.

New mission ‘Sentinelle’ greenlit

General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor endorsed the operational blueprint for Operation Sentinelle, a forthcoming mission proposed by the G5 Sahel cell. This initiative is designed to tighten border control, accelerate response times for joint forces, and deepen security collaboration between Chad and the Central African Republic.

The Commander emphasized that these measures would play a pivotal role in safeguarding civilians residing near the frontier while addressing the complex security dynamics of this pivotal region.
