Chad government assesses two-year progress of president’s agenda
A technical validation workshop for the biennial report assessing the head of state’s political program was held in N’Djaména from June 2 to 5, organized by the General Secretariat of the Government.
During the presidential five-year term, the General Secretariat of the Government initiated a technical validation workshop on June 2 to review the biennial progress report. The opening ceremony took place at N’Djaména’s Radisson Blu hotel, bringing together key stakeholders to examine achievements and challenges from May 2024 to May 2026.
In her opening address, Dr. Ramatou Mahamat Outouin, Secretary-General of the Government, emphasized that this gathering was not merely about reviewing a document but served as a critical moment to assess the government’s commitments to the Chadian people. She highlighted the administration’s dedication to transparent governance and rebuilding public trust through measurable results.
« This workshop represents an opportunity to collectively examine our progress in fulfilling the promises made to the nation, » she stated, underscoring President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s vision of transforming public action and prioritizing citizen concerns.
The Minister paid tribute to the teams behind the report, noting, « Every statistic and indicator reflects the dedication of individuals who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. » She acknowledged the challenges of accountability but stressed its necessity for evaluating outcomes and addressing obstacles.
« We are not here to issue praise but to gain clarity, » she asserted, urging participants to critically assess both accomplishments and remaining hurdles. She emphasized that the government’s efforts must directly benefit citizens—whether farmers, educators, or entrepreneurs—and reflect their evolving needs.
Concluding her remarks, Dr. Outouin framed the exercise as both technical and deeply human, calling for rigorous and responsible engagement. « This report must capture an accurate picture of our journey—highlighting progress made and the work still ahead, » she affirmed before declaring the workshop officially underway.
