Togo and Congo Discuss Peace and Security in Africa
The diplomatic dance continues in Lomé, confirming Togo’s central role in resolving crises on the continent. In an official mission to the capital, Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Expatriates Constant-Serge Bounda, was received by President of the Council Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
The high-level meeting fits into the regular consultations between Lomé and Brazzaville. Discussions focused on prevention and conflict resolution mechanisms, as well as promoting stability in various African sub-regions.
Pan-African Alliance Faces Security Challenges
Following the audience, the Congolese diplomat highlighted the complicity and convergence of views between the two leaders on major continental issues.
« As brothers with a panafricanist vocation, Denis Sassou N’Guesso and Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé regularly consult on significant matters affecting our continent, particularly peace and security. This is why we were sent to Lomé to seek the President’s views on these issues », Constant-Serge Bounda said.
