Zémidjan taxi moto Commune d'Abomey Calavi

In Kétou, moto-taxi drivers will soon have to work in uniform. The municipal authority is launching a registration campaign ahead of this reform, which is presented as a measure to strengthen security, improve driver identification, and better organise urban transport.

The registration exercise is scheduled from July 6 to July 20, 2026, at the administrative offices of all six districts. Drivers must bring a valid ID to register. This step is essential for receiving the official uniform.

After the enrolment period, only drivers who are registered and wearing the uniform will be allowed to carry passengers. The municipality warns that any driver who does not comply will face penalties under the existing regulations.

The commune authorities are also urging passengers to support the reform by using officially identified drivers. District chiefs, moto-taxi driver associations, and security services have been tasked with ensuring the effective enforcement of this new requirement.
