Côte d’Ivoire’s JOURIE 2026 kicks off with focus on digital education revolution

Abidjan, July 21, 2026 – The Ivory Coast has launched its groundbreaking Journées ouvertes pour l’utilisation de la recherche et de l’innovation en éducation (JOURIE 2026) at the École nationale supérieure de statistique et d’économie appliquée (ENSEA) in Abidjan. Organized by the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Training (MENAET), this two-day event centers on the theme “Transforming education through digital innovation: sustainable solutions for quality learning”.

Running through July 22, 2026, the conference aims to foster a research-driven culture while showcasing scientific breakthroughs and pioneering teaching methods. The goal is to elevate Ivory Coast’s education system by leveraging digital solutions that enhance learning outcomes across primary, secondary, and higher education institutions.

Dr. Inza Meité, Director of Studies, Strategies, Planning and Statistics (DESPS), emphasized that JOURIE 2026 represents a pivotal moment for collective deliberation on how scientific research and technological advancements can reshape Ivory Coast’s educational landscape. He highlighted the event’s role in strengthening the connection between academic findings and policy implementation, ensuring public decisions are rooted in robust data and thorough analysis.

“These JOURIE 2026 sessions provide an unparalleled platform to present research findings, share pilot projects, explore cutting-edge tech solutions, and engage in high-level discussions on systemic challenges,” Dr. Meité stated. He also reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to positioning digital tools as key drivers of quality, equity, and efficiency in Ivory Coast’s education sector, with a clear focus on inclusivity.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of National Education, Literacy and Technical Training, Technical Advisor Kouadio Kouman underscored the government’s dedication to anchoring educational reforms in evidence-based practices aligned with international benchmarks. He described digital innovation not merely as a tool but as a strategic accelerator for building a more equitable, inclusive, and high-performing Ivorian school system.

Kouman noted that JOURIE 2026 serves as a unique forum where educators, researchers, policymakers, innovators, and development partners converge to address critical issues in governance, innovation, teacher training, infrastructure development, and digital inclusion.
